Today we went to the park near Kate’s house. At the park we saw a cricket match. The bowler (pitcher) would run a long way and then throw the ball. It was very interesting.


Late in the afternoon we went for a barbecue in a park. It is not at all like Texas BBQ. First, you cook in a pot over a fire, not a grill. Second, you cook prawns (shrimp), fish, and KANGAROO! On the was out we saw a sulfur-crested cockatoo, a kookaburra, and kangaroos and heard a koala growling!



When it was dark we went to a nearby ranch to catch wombats. It was fun!!! Clive was the one spotlighting. One time when he saw a wombat on the road in front of us he ran and jumped on it! But the wombat got away.
We went walking all through the pastures (it was very misty and wet again) and finally Dad caught one with a huge net. By that time all of our shoes were like walking in water.
It was a lot of fun!!
