Linam Ramblings

This site started out as a collection of our photos and Abby's diary from our trip to Australia in 2005, but I decided to keep adding photos and stories from other places and events that inspire us. Hope they inspire you too!

California Vacation - July 28

Frank's Journal:
We got up, ate breakfast, and started on a hike to Vernal Falls. We started out going through some tress by a creek. Then we started going uphill through some rocks; then we cleared 700 steps! We saw awesome views of the waterfall, and then we got to the top of it and saw where the waterfall began. It was a really tall waterfall.
We stayed there for a while; then we started back. We went back a different way which was much harder. It went uphill and then it came back down. On the way down it wnet back and forth going almost nowhere, and the duirt was super-slippery. In the end it took four hours to go four miles.
After lunch we went to the Awahnee Hotel, and we went to Visitor Center and saw a cool Indian Village. Then we went to Yosemite Falls, the tallest waterfall in North America and the fifth tallest in the world, and I touched it!

In the evening we went walking to Mirror Lake. On the way we were walking and people said, "Just past the bridge there's a black bear and her cub!" We walked slowly, but only heard it. When we got to the lake it was almost dry, but we finally got to see a nice view of Half Dome through the smoky air. Then we went to a Ranger talk on geology. Once that was over we went back to camp, ate oreos and milk, and went to bed.
