November 16, 2005 - Ocean Road, Victoria & South Australia

When we got up, there were red-necked wallabies near our picnic table. The baby was almost as big as his mother, but he still tried to crawl in her pouch!

After breakfast we took a hike to a place called Whaler's Lookout, a high point where the watchmen would look for migrating whales and signal the coastal towns whenever they saw any by building a fire.

Today we mostly drove in the morning. During midday we went on a hike looking for echidnas, but only found black flies (and a pretty Superb Blue Wren)!

Later we went to Blue Lake, a crater lake in Mt. Gambier, South Australia. We stopped at a nice beach to pick up more seashells.
That night we camped at Coorong National Park. We saw emus, kangaroos, and galahs along the way, but there were TONS of mosquitoes!
